The Unexpected post

by | Nov 11, 2020 | Faith journey, Social commentary | 0 comments

I never thought what my one-hundredth Instagram post would be about.

Now I am writing it. I do wish I were writing it from a different state of mind — a mind filled with more sunshine, more grace, and more optimism.

But God has other plans.

His plan is stretching my heart.

In the past few months, instead of sunshine, my heart was filled with worry, stress, and uncertainty half of the time. I believe yours probably was the same.

But I want to share a writing I just read yesterday:

”the soul is elastic, like a balloon. It can be enlarged through suffering.”

In short, the more suffering we go through, the bigger capacity our souls will have for joy, peace, love, and strength.

It’s our choice.

We can either choose to let the hustle of this world eat away at our joy, or clinch tighter to our Savior, invite Him to carry all of our burdens.

And in that process, walk one step closer to true Christian living.

Knowing that we are utterly helpless creatures, we should fill our hearts with a multitude of gratitude.

And from that realization will come the stream of great joy and freedom seeping through our soul.

May God bless you today friends, may His grace dwell on you today, tomorrow, and all the days to come. I am thankful to share this journey with you.

”And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

1 Peter 5:10
