I am on a mission to take back my joy.
This is a repeated theme during my conversation with God recently.
Yes, I know my future is secured. But what about now?
What about the mess and brokenness we are facing right now?
My friend, the secret is— fill my heart with His love and mercy.
Telling myself aloud about who I am—
I am the apple of His eyes.
I was chosen from my mother’s womb.
He has a plan for me from long ago—a good, good plan.
Remind myself of all the good things He did for me through all those years.
Even bad things turned out to have a good purpose behind them.
Enjoying little moments with my loved ones.
Hug them tight. Smell their hairs. Giggle like crazy.
Our joy comes from trust-
“For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. “ 1 Corinthians 2:2
— we don’t know the reasons behind many things, but we trust our God knows and He plans.
Have peace with that.
Our enemy is a thief and a liar. He wants to steal every good thing from us.
But nothing gives him more satisfaction than to steal our joy, and convince us that we cannot be content if things don’t go our way.
Our joy is our power. The more joy we possess, the more power we have against our enemy’s schemes.
Aim for having quiet delight—joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit.
So it takes time to plant, to water, to grow.
It takes time for the tree of the Spirit to sit quietly in the sun of God’s mercy and love.
And one day, it will bloom.
That’s His promise.
Friends, may you find joy and peace in your heart under all circumstances.
Have a great thanksgiving!
