One challenge I am facing recently is the morning traffic to school.
Snowbirds are back to our quiet little town. It’s “the season”. It seems like overnight; the traffic gets from easy breezy to unpredictable–accidents on the highway happen every other day.
Already a little flustered by the hustle of getting three kids fed, dressed, strapped into car seats, I can’t help but huff and puff the whole way on the highway.
I just now realized. Our mind is never neutral. There is no such word as neutral in the Christian life. Our existence is either ruled by our flesh or by the Holy Spirit.
Every mundaneness in life is a test for our hearts. Am I going to be easily agitated by traffic on the road or keep a calm and peaceful spirit?
Choose the Spirit, always, with our mightiest effort. In ALL our ways submit to Him. Because it’s either the flesh or the Spirit that dwells in us.
What is one challenge you are facing recently?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6
