We took a field trip to our favorite farm last week and got to see these little bunnies. They are soooo cute! 🐰
I went to Dollar General today and walked down the Easter aisle. I would say about 95% of the Easter candy, toys etc. are all bunny related. I saw one tiny section of chocolate crosses. It makes me a bit sad.
Don’t get me wrong. I am allll for the whimsy and fun of the Easter bunny, truly, and Santa too🎅🏻. They both make their stops at the Chambers residence. I loved holidays as a child and the anticipation of waking up on Christmas and Easter morning was a highlight. But I didn’t know about Jesus until I was a teenager.
I don’t want my kids to miss out on fun. We hide and color eggs, they’ll probably get a new (to them anyway) outfit for church. They’ll have an Easter basket of goodies. But when we talk about what Eater means and why we celebrate, this is my response 👉🏻 Because Jesus died on the cross (Good Friday) for our sins and then three days later (Easter) He resurrected.
Defeated death. 🤯
It would be a real travesty if they missed the whole point of this beautiful holiday. There’s so many wonderful and fun ways to tell the story! We use resurrection eggs, sing songs, and read books (the Bible and other stories).
Jesus is not dead, he is surely alive. He wasn’t just a cool dude or a good teacher. He’s savior of the world and He lives inside me and all who believe in the saving grace of his death and resurrection. 🙌🏼 Thank you, Lord.
Faith in that extraordinary event in history alone gives us eternal life. Not being a good person. Not being able to recite the Bible backwards and forwards. Not going to church every week.
The simple faith and acceptance of Jesus as our one and only Savior. (John 3:16)
Have fun and be blessed this Easter, friends! Remember the reason for the season. ✝️
