Before I tell you the background about this painting, please let me ask you, friend:
Did this past year feel very heavy to you too? Tell me about it, sister!
The vision of this painting came into my mind when I was wrestling with the dark spirit.
This image conveyed to me one word–fearless.
Sure it’s easy to be fearless on the top of the mountain, like life before the pandemic or social unrest. But how about when we sink to the darkness of the valley?
Can we still be fearless, can we still fly our spirit high?
Yes we can. Because God is with us. He is always ahead of us in every battle. And we are protected and loved.
Thus, we must keep our gaze steady and our faith unwavering.
Maybe instead of merely fending off those flaming arrows, we could take an offensive position in this spiritual battleground.
And I believe, if we could do this, His power will transform our posture from survivors to conquerers.
I hope this painting captured that hopeful spirit. (Btw, my little man Mark is the model of the boy in the picture.)
for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’
