I don’t know about you, but on the day after Christmas I suddenly felt that all the colorful decorations which I poured sweat for, looks a little bit too noisy and too busy now — I can’t wait to take them all down.
And with that, a cloud of sadness came over me.
It’s like every celebration—we plan, we anticipate, we work hard for it, then this thing comes and goes, bringing all the happiness and excitement along with it. And we suddenly fall back down behind the steering wheel of our reality.
But Christmas shouldn’t be this way, right?
Shouldn’t we celebrate Christmas every day as long as we have a breath in our lungs?
The birth of Jesus brought us hope that will never fade, the joy that will be everlasting, the promise won’t be broken.
A glimpse of heaven is better that the best thing money can buy on this earth.
So I pray, for this New Years’ resolution, Father God, please give me a steady heart.
A steady heart free of distraction.
A heart that possesses the will to focus on my own lane —the destiny You designed for me.
Give me a steady heart, dear Father, so I won’t be shaken by the unpredictable tiding of life. Help me keep my every thought captive and turn it to you.
What is your New Years’ resolution, friend? I’d love to hear.
